The UDR is a converged repository of subscriber information and can be used to service a number of network functions. ¹
For example:

• The 5G UDM can use the UDR to store and retrieve subscription data.
• Alternatively, the PCF (Policy Control Function) can use the UDR to store and retrieve policy related data.

It stores data grouped into distinct collections of subscription-related information² :

• Subscription Data;
• Policy Data;
• Structured Data for Exposure;
• Application Data.
